Golfing
Royal Perak Golf Club is one of the finest golf clubs in Perak, the Royal Perak Golf Club in Ipoh was the venue for the Malaysian Open Championships in 1974 and 1990. Located at Tiger Lane, about 3 km from town, it was formed just after 1900. Originally a 9-hole golf course, it was later expanded to an 18-hole course layout and covers 172 acres.

It is also not lacking in picturesque beauty and its own distinctive features such as the famous 'Mae West of Royal Perak' popularly dubbed as such due to its unique geographical layout.
Facilities at the Clubhouse include a bowling alley, card and billiard rooms, a pro-shop and a multi-purpose hall. There are also facilities for dining and dancing and a bar lounge. Facilities for outdoor sports include swimming and tennis.
