Kuantan and East Coast

Kuantan is not a big city by any standards and you will find it remarkably personable and down-to-earth. Friendly to the explorer on foot, Kuantan reveals its charms through its streetlife and attractions around its town centre. Old Kuantan is not lost amongst recent developments. Take a stroll down Jalan Besar, and you are likely to savour the pungent aroma of salted fish and keropok (fish crackers), the state's famous delicacy. At the Hindu Temple in Jalan Tanah Puteh and the two Hindu temples in Jalan Bukit Setongkol and Jalan Bukit Ubi, the visitor will get a close-up view of the practice of these two faiths by the city's Hindu and Buddhist communities.
