Langkawi
A scenically beautiful island with white sand beaches and dense forests, an ideal destination for a quiet, relaxed holiday in the sun. The lack of discos and nightclubs attracts people looking to get away from it all. You can spend your days lazing around your resort or enjoying some of the many watersports. I recommend you hire a car for a day and explore. The island is easy to drive around (watch out for wandering buffalos!) and you can find some secluded bays with beautiful beaches to enjoy all to yourself. Places of interest are the Black Sand Beach and Seven Wells Waterfall. If you venture into Kuah, the main township, you can stock up on Duty Free items such as beer, wine and spirits. Flights to Langkawi take approx. 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur.
