Nowhere is this more apparent than in a cape in the northernmost tip of the island, Tanjung Rhu - a scenic and untouched enclave nestled in the shade of luxuriant casuarina trees. Here lies the Tanjung Rhu Resort - a deluxe resort fringing the long, magnificent bay that leads to the clear, cool waters of the Andaman Sea.

The easy-life charm of Tanjung Rhu echoes through the resort, combining the luxuries of a deluxe property, with a casual, unhurried ambience. Welcome drinks, fruit basket and cold towels are our way to wish you 'Selamat Datang'. Guests have a choice of four types of rooms at the 138-room Tanjung Rhu.

Each room is spacious, with timber floors and large windows, to take advantage of the tropical breezes and sea view. Employing the best of the Asian-Eastern influence, our decor is complemented with upholstery and drapes in soft Thai silk and pure Indian cotton fabrics. All rooms are equipped with television, video and compact disc player, private bar and oversized bath with separate shower. Bayu and Anjung rooms are equipped with dataport.

There are four restaurants offering different dining experiences - all are beach front with a delightful view of the Cape anytime of the day. The Rhu - a restaurant that embodies the grace and elegance of the casuarina tree. This fine-dining restaurant serves East-meets-West seafood cuisine, amidst the soft strains of a serenading string quartet. Sands - Sands is an alfresco casual all-day dining restaurant offering local and western fare. Saffron - this popular Eastern flavouring lives up to its name at this restaurant. Brightly-coloured sofas, upbeat music, karaoke room, and a fun menu of snacks and full meals makes this a popular spot any time of the day. Saffron also has an alfresco section with an unencumbered view of Tanjung Rhu's stunning sunsets. Reading Room - a cool, quiet haven with a magnificent view, the Reading Room - besides being the venue of English Tea, or coffee, with hot scones, pastries and savouries - also 'serves' an extensive collection of books and magazines for guests reading pleasure.

By virtue of exclusivity and distance from Kuah town, Tanjung Rhu has ensured that everything you need for your comfort and pleasure is either available within the premises, or can be easily arranged for you by our staff. Airport Transfers - Guests can choose to be picked up at the Langkawi International Airport - 30 minutes away by car from Tanjung Rhu. Guests can choose to be picked up in a chauffeured Daimler, or a van, at an additional charge.
